Hope for Wildlife depends on many dedicated volunteers who help out in many different ways; without them, we could not do what we do.

Current Opportunities

Wildlife Rescuer

As a Wildlife Rescuer you will work with a team coordinating the pickup and capture of wildlife. You will coordinate with callers, a dispatcher and other wildlife rescuers to retrieve and deliver wildlife to one of our drop off facilities. You must have reliable transportation. Due to the sometimes urgent nature of this role, you must be able to respond in a timely manner. The role consists of but may not be limited to transporting wildlife to one of Hope for Wildlife’s drop off centers, containing and handling wildlife, liaising with the public as a representative of Hope for Wildlife, and participating in wildlife releases.

To become a member of our Wildlife Rescuer team you must have a valid drivers license and access to a vehicle. You must also have had a tetanus shot and all of your pets at home must be vaccinated.

Wildlife Transfer Driver

The role of a Wildlife Transfer Driver involves picking up already contained wildlife from one of our drop off facilities and arrange transport to our hospital located in Seaforth Nova Scotia. You may also be required to work with our regional dispatcher and other wildlife transfer drivers to arrange relays to get the injured animal from one facility to another where longer distances may be involved. Due to the sometimes urgent nature of this role, you must be able to respond in a timely manner.

Facility Worker

Working at one of our facilities can entail many job roles, these include but are not limited to feeding, cleaning all areas of the facility, gardening, responding to emergencies, receiving wildlife, releasing wildlife. You must have a reliable means of transportation to our facility and able to arrive on time. If you select this option, you will be contacted by one of our personnel to discuss the opportunities.
